“Jarvis clearly likes to do things the hard way. Gimmicky, glory-seeking adventure is not his style, so when he takes to the ice he does it for a reason. His reputation for being a proper explorer with a real explorer’s values is based on a lot of miserable, unseen, unsung graft.”
In over 20 years of expeditioning, Tim has taken a kayak passage to the dry centre of Australia, lived on the largest uninhabited island in the South Pacific, and recreated the polar survival journey of explorer Sir Douglas Mawson – done using 1913 clothing and equipment and starvation rations.
• to recreate Shackleton’s famous survival journey including an open ocean voyage in the James Caird and clim across South Georgia.
• a journey of climate change discovery in Greenland.
• a dog sled lead trip in the Canadian Arctic following the route of the Lost Patrol and.
• an expedition to cross Papua New Guinea traversing the majestic Hindenburg Wall in the island’s remote rainforest interior.
All expeditions combine Tim’s love of adventure with his passion for promoting messages about the fragility of the world’s environment.
