Imparting his knowledge to as many people as possible is one of the prime motivations for Tim's work. In order to achieve his goal, Tim uses every medium available to him.

 

Speaking:  As an environmental scientist, Tim regularly consults and speaks on a range of issues related to environmental sustainability. His audiences range from corporate blue chips through to schools and universities, government, conference groups and the public.

 

Book:  Tim's book Mawson: Life and Death in Antarctica is officially endorsed by UNEP (the United Nations Environment Programme) based on its contribution to understanding man's legacy in Antarctica. The book is popular in schools due to its educational and motivational content, with history, science and sustainability materials from it having been used by UNEP. The book features stunning images of the expedition, polar landscapes and meteorological phenomena.

OU environment workbook:  Tim is currently co-writing the Open University's environmental workbook to accompany the BBC's 'Frozen Planet' series, Sir David Attenborough's next natural history series scheduled for 2011.
